Dr Sandra Cullen - ‘Faith in the Era of AI’ (8pm) on Sunday 16th August

Dr Cullen is Associate Professor of Religious Education at Dublin City University. She was speaking on Family Day in Knock Basilica as part of this year's theme, ‘Sheltered in God's Love’, marking the 50th anniversary of Knock Basilica. From her work at DCU's Irish Centre for Religious Education, her angle on AI is about religious education, human dignity, and how faith communities navigate technology—not AI technology itself, but what it means to remain human, relational, and spiritually grounded when algorithms shape so much of life. We had the honour of having with us our Capuchin Brothers Harald from Germany and Woicheck from Poland. Both Brothers, along with Br. Phillip Baxter and Br. John Manley, formed the new International Novitiate Community in Rochestown Friary in Cork. The first English-speaking Novitiate begins next month, with Br. Woicheck as Novice Master and Br. Harald as the Guardian of the Novitiate Community. During their time in Knock Basilica, they spent time in prayer, concelebrated Mass, and took part in the Novena and Rosary procession.
